For Prarthana

Before
there was us.

There were two random bench mates. Then friends. Then best friends. Then, somehow, there was us.

Take your time. This one was made to be felt, not rushed.

Prologue · before us

Every love story
has a before.

Ours began long before either of us knew what it was becoming.

There was no dramatic first meeting. No instant declaration. Just two people who barely knew each other, sitting front and back on two school benches, slowly discovering that talking to each other felt easy. By the end of 9th, somehow, the stranger had become the person I looked for first.

“Sometimes the most important person in your life enters quietly enough that you don't realise you're meeting them for the first time.”

Chapter I · Her

Before I loved you,
I had to know you.

Prarthana as a childthe little one
Prarthana growing upgrowing up
Prarthana as a teenagerbecoming her
Prarthana nowthe girl I know

A little girl became a daughter, a friend, a student, a dreamer, a slightly chaotic human — and eventually the person whose smile can still make me forget what I was saying. I don't love one photograph of you. I love the whole journey that led to the girl standing in front of me now.

A portrait, in words

The beauty
I notice.

Not just the kind a photograph can capture.

01 · Her smileThe kind that changes the room.
It isn't just pretty. It makes ordinary moments feel like they deserve to be remembered.
02 · Her eyesThey give you away. 😂
Sometimes your eyes say what your mouth hasn't decided to say yet. I learned to read that little language.
03 · Her chaosCompletely unnecessary. ❤️
The random reactions, the little expressions, the unpredictability — somehow they became part of what makes you, you.
04 · Her heartThe part I admire most.
Looks catch attention. Character makes someone unforgettable. And your heart is the reason I stayed looking.
05 · Her presenceYou make ordinary days different.
Even when nothing special happens, having you somewhere in the day makes the day feel less ordinary.
06 · Simply youI could keep listing things.
But eventually the list stops being about features and starts being about one person I wouldn't trade for another.

“A photograph can prove that you were beautiful. It can't prove how much you meant.”

Chapter II · 9th standard

Two random
bench mates.

Front bench. Back bench. Tiny conversations.

We didn't know each other till 8th, and even in 9th we weren't sitting side by side. Yet somewhere between small conversations, shared secrets and the kind of comfort that asks for no judgement, we quietly turned into best friends.

By the end of that year, we could tell each other almost anything.

No pretending. No fear of being judged. Just that rare feeling of finding someone you can actually be yourself around.

“First you become the person they tell everything to. Then one day you realise they're the person you want to tell everything to.”

Chapter III · 10th

A little distance.

Different sections. Less talking. Same story.

10th changed the routine. You were in one section, I was in another, and the everyday closeness became harder to keep. But some friendships don't disappear just because the timetable changes.

Then

9th

Bench mates → friends → best friends.

Next

10th

Different sections. A little farther away. Still connected.

Then

11th

New school. Same class. And suddenly, the story found its way back.

Chapter IV · The return

A new school.
The same us.

11th standard gave the story another chance to put us in the same room.

Same school. Same class. A group of friends around us. And slowly, the old comfort came back. I cared about what you were going through, even when you didn't always want to talk about it. Not because I knew where this was heading — just because you were my best friend.

“Sometimes destiny doesn't introduce a new person. It simply gives an old friend another chance to be seen differently.”

Late October · early November

The mysterious guy.

You told me you liked someone.

And obviously, as your best friend, I had one extremely important responsibility: finding out who the lucky guy was. 😂 I kept asking. You kept giving clues. One week. One confession. A few suspicious hints.

THE CASE OF THE LUCKY GUY
Who was the mysterious guy?
You probably knew before I was brave enough to assume it.
19 November 2025

The day before
the answer.

One Gujarati period. One bench. Two sleepy idiots.

We were sitting next to each other while everyone around us had their heads down too. I slowly slid closer. And you didn't move away. You did the opposite — you instantly came closer too.

Then the class ended. We were called to the staff room. Suddenly the harmless little moment had turned into fear, tears and the possibility of being expelled. But underneath all that chaos, something had already changed.

The punishment was temporary.

The memory wasn't.

“Some days look ordinary while you're living them. Later, you realise they were the opening scene.”

20 November 2025

The hand.

I held yours. You could have let go.

Tap it. This is your part of the story.

The confirmation

So it really
was me.

Prarthana

You told me you'd had a crush on me for quite a while.

I went home, texted you as quickly as I could, and finally got the answer to the mystery I had been trying to solve for a week.

The question that started everything

Are you in?

Are you in?
...

You only get to answer once. Pick the version that sounds most like you.

YES.

“No rules.”

“Just love.”

Chapter V · The first months

Not perfect.
Real.

The beginning was messy. Hectic. Sometimes unfair.

Not everyone around us supported us. There were complications and moments that could have made giving up feel easier. But our story wasn't built on having an easy road. It was built on choosing each other when the road wasn't easy.

Us

“Love isn't proven by the days that ask nothing of you. It's proven by the days that do.”

Chapter IV · The little things

Three little cars.
One huge feeling.

You love cars. She remembered. That's the whole story.

No race. No engine sounds. No music fade.
Just the three little cars she chose for you.

01
Porsche Taycan Turbo S · EV

The one that felt like me.

You remembered the exact kind of car I would stop for. Not a random gift. A tiny electric Porsche that said, “I actually notice what makes you happy.”

“You weren't showing off. You were paying attention.”
what I remember

The first glimpse of it made me stupidly happy. ❤️

And then it made sense

You didn't give me
Hot Wheels.

“You remembered the little thing that makes me happy.
And somehow, that's how you took my heart.” ❤️

One was exactly the kind of car you would stare at. One made an ordinary day feel a little brighter. And one was the first — the one that already had a story attached to it.

That's why these little cars hit harder than they should.
They prove that you notice me.

Okay, detective. You found the tiny thing I hid just for you. ❤️

Maybe that's the whole point of us: even when life hides little things, we keep looking for each other.

Chapter VI · What comes next

Don't let this
be the ending.

One year is a milestone. Not a finish line.

If I could ask for one thing from the next year, it wouldn't be perfection. It would be more ordinary days with you. More stupid jokes. More memories that only make sense to us. More reasons to look back and say, “remember when?”

Because if our first chapter began with two random bench mates, I can't wait to see what the next chapters look like when we write them on purpose.

Prarthana

365 days.
One year.
Us.

We started as two people who didn't know what this would become. We became friends. Best friends. And then, on one very ordinary November evening, we chose each other.

Happy 1st Anniversary, Prarthana. ❤️

“Chapter one was beautiful. Let's make chapter two unforgettable.”

If you thought this was the end… you seriously underestimated me. 😂❤️
